People travel for a variety of reasons at various stages of life. But more and more people are wanting to make travel meaningful. There's a strong desire to do more than just sit on beaches and see the sights from a bus. People want to get their hands dirty, really experience the culture and be part of positive change. With GKG and our partners anything is possible!
We have experiences for everyone and with lengths from two weeks to 24 with options to extend, there's something for everyone!

Baby Boomers are at the perfect age and stage to have a volunteer holiday. Lots of work and personal skills and often the time and energy to get out and 'do'. Family volunteering holiday?
Once upon a time a 'family holiday' meant five hours in a car with no safety belts, one person being sick into a bag and the constant cry of 'are we there yet??' But the world's changed, families now regularly travel overseas for trips and we're finding that many families now want holidays that provide their family with a real tangible experience. Volunteering with GKG allows families to travel to amazing locations and help build much needed housing, care for the elderly, work with children and many other experiences. It's a simple way to pay it forward.
Desire to shake things up?
Maybe the kids are growing up, or you don't have kids, but some time and the financial ability to head off overseas for a few weeks. Maybe you did an OE all those years ago and you're a bit over trips to the Gold Coast? At GKG we offer something different, the opportunity to immerse yourself in a local culture in South America, Asia, the Pacific or Africa, to really get to know the locals and make a difference in their communities, so what are you waiting for? Some quick info about volunteering with GKG....
Volunteering or doing service is life changing and you won't have a more meaningful or cheaper travel experience. Some people say, 'so why do I have to pay if I'm volunteering?' Well, because even though on the ground you're generously volunteering your time, your energy, expertise and care, it does cost to maintain the facilities we use, so we charge a minimal amount. This covers off your in-country travel, food, accommodation and local cultural events.
So, yes there's a cost, but compared to a regular holiday and coming from a privileged country like NZ, it's a bargain and you arrive home knowing you didn't just take photos and sip cocktails at the bar, but you taught children, helped the elderly, built a much needed building, worked in a local hospital, or saved a rare species of animal. You didn't float over the culture like a tourist, you immersed yourself in it, you lived it!!
So, you decide!
